The Anatomy of an Internet Guest

Accomex '03 - Qualicum Beach

I had the pleasure of presenting one of the mini seminars at the Accomex '03 show in Ucluelet on October 23, 2003. The intention of the presenter is to teach the audience something, or challenge assumptions in the industry. However, if the presenter is listening, he/she will come away from the presentation with valuable insight. For example, the presentation makes the assumption that most lodging owner and operators don't understand why people are using the Internet and choosing self-service over calling and talking to a live person. I was pleasantly surprised to be mildly chastised for my negative view.

I have converted my PowerPoint presentation into an HTML version and invite you to review it. If you have questions, please email.

Hospitality Trade Exposition 2003 - Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre

Where the Accomex '03 show was highly focused on the BC Lodging and Campground, BC & Yukon Hotel Association's show is more wide open and we were heavily focusing on our Travel In BC website as well as the Quokka Online Booking System. It was wonderful to see clients from near and far and to watch much more fun and funky vendors at work (e.g. the ones selling beer, furniture and entertainment equipment). Of course, to break down our booth was easy; they had more work.

This was our first time at this show and we are certainly going to think about attending next year.
